Crew & Captain Cabins: one-night waterfront stays on Sweden’s High Coast

Need just one night in Docksta? Keep it simple—and stay by the water.

If you travel through Sweden’s High Coast day by day — by car, bike, motorbike, or on foot — there are many good places to stay. But sometimes what you really want is simplicity.

Arrive (Docksta is an easy north/south stopover). Drop your bag. Take a hot shower. Eat something easy. Sit by the sea for ten minutes, in the never‑ending daylight of Swedish summer up north. Sleep well.

Hotel-style comfort: we make the bed for you — linens and blankets included.

Tomorrow, you move again.

That’s what these two cabins are for: a calm one‑night base camp, right by the pier — with a bed, a hot shower, and a good morning start.

That’s why we created two small, cozy cabins at Docksta Havet Base Camp — both bookable on Airbnb.

Two cabins for late arrivals, early starts, and real rest — with our waterfront Club House just a few steps away.

  • Crew Cabin (the classic stopover cabin: simple, practical, last‑minute friendly)

  • Captain Cabin (a newer cabin with a slightly more “stay a bit longer” feel — great for micro‑workation)

Crew Cabin is the simplest stopover option. Captain Cabin adds a bit more comfort — perfect if you want a slower morning (or a couple of focused work hours).

Both cabins share the same base‑camp advantage: the waterfront Club House is included.

  • Espresso corner (free coffee & tea)

  • A place to make a simple breakfast or do a quick workation, with sea air from the dock

  • Books & a quiet, calm lounge

  • WiFi by the water

  • A kitchenette you can use during your stay

  • Optional add‑on: bikes & simple outdoor gear for a light excursion (Skuleberget & Skyleskogen National Park are close)

The Club House morning (a cabin‑guest bonus)

A small WOW, every morning

Base Camp cabin guests often discover the same thing on day one: the Club House in the morning. It’s flooded with light. The sun rises early, straight in front of the docks, and the coffee & tea corner sits in the best spot — the corner of a 6‑meter window looking out over the fjord.

Before the wind arrives, the pier is pure peace: warm sun, water like glass, boats resting — and the harbour still asleep. It’s the best way to start a day: calm, tuned to the rhythm of sea and wind. You know movement will come later — but in that first quiet moment, the fjord gives you its steadiness and you borrow it.

A big double door opens onto the piers, so the sea air becomes part of the room. Outside we set out a couple of bistro tables and chairs every morning, plus a few sun loungers — all included, all for guests. From the lounge corner, the water is almost under your feet.

Even when it rains, the sea is still there. Light, air, and water stay the main characters.

Not an “experience package”. Just a good base camp stopover — with morning sea air built in.

Who these cabins are for

These cabins are for you if you’re:

  • travelling solo (or as a “solo traveller with a plan”)

  • moving through the High Coast with a light‑luggage rhythm

  • arriving last minute and wanting a place that’s easy and human

  • looking for hot showers + a laundry reset

  • wanting the sea close, even if you’re only here for one night

  • open to staying longer if the weather (or the mood) is right

Minimum stay is usually one night — and you’re welcome to stay longer if you want a calmer rhythm.

What you get (base camp essentials, included)

  • Service House: hot showers + laundry reset.

You get access to our Service House with hot showers and toilets, plus laundry (washing machine + dryer available).
For many travellers, this is the real upgrade: you don’t just sleep — you reset.

  • Waterfront Club House (included): espresso + calm + WiFi + kitchenette

This is the part guests keep talking about. Our Sailor’s Club House is your waterfront living room: espresso corner, books, a calm place to sit, maps to plan tomorrow, or do nothing for a while.

And yes: the kitchenette is included for Crew Cabin and Captain Cabin stays.

  • The pier: a real sea pause, even on a one-night stop

The cabins are cozy — but the space is outside.
A few steps and you’re on the dock: morning light, evening calm, a quick swim when the weather allows, or just five minutes of sea air before sleep.

CrewCabin vs Captain: same base camp, different vibe

Crew Cabin: the High Coast stopover cabin (E4-friendly)

Crew Cabin is the simplest version of “arrive, reset, sleep, go”.

Perfect if:

  • you arrive late

  • you’re travelling fast

  • you want maximum flexibility

  • you want a clean, cozy place with everything you actually need

This is the same stopover logic I describe here:
E4 High Coast Stopover: Stop Differently in Docksta >

Captain Cabin: the “stay a bit longer” cabin (micro-workation friendly)

Captain Cabin is for the same flexible rhythm — but it naturally fits 2+ nights better (without forcing it).

Perfect if:

  • you want a calmer pace

  • you’d like to work a little (or read, or write) with the sea nearby

  • you want one full day exploring + one day recovering

  • you’re travelling in high season but still want a short, simple stay

If you like the idea of working without noise for a couple of days, this is the philosophy behind it:

Via Ferrata nearby. If the forecast gives you one clean day, use it — and keep the rest of the stay light.

Booking (Airbnb) + what to message us

Both cabins are bookable on Airbnb.

When you message us, the two most helpful details are:

  • your dates + ETA (especially if arriving late)

  • your arrival mode (car / bike / motorbike / on foot)

If you tell us your plan for tomorrow, we can suggest a simple “from the pier” loop.

Book here:

From 459 SEK (CrewCabin, 1 guest) / 559 SEK (CaptainCabin, 1 guest) — see Airbnb for exact dates.

If you want the deeper seaside stay (not just a stopover)

Crew and Captain are the flexible cabins — perfect for stopovers and short stays.

If you’re looking for a deeper seaside pause — the kind of stay where the water is not just a view but the main mood — have a look at our Boathouse stays.

Different rhythm. Different depth.

Passing through on the E4 and stopping in Docksta for one night? I’ll help you keep it simple — and start tomorrow well.

Message me on Airbnb for late arrival tips, parking set‑up, and a “first move” plan. Two easy outdoor options:

  • If you arrive with daylight: a simple 1–3h walk to stretch your legs and catch the waterfront calm.
