Can we book the whole base camp (exclusive use)?
Yes — depending on dates and season. Tell us:
your dates (and flexibility)
estimated headcount
what “exclusive use” means for you (quiet rhythm vs social week, shared spaces, unit mix)
We’ll suggest the best setup and the simplest booking path.
What’s the best season for orienteering team weeks?
For most teams, May–June is the best fit: calmer, more flexible, and more recovery-friendly.
September can also work well for training blocks.
July–August is typically busier (summer stays), so coordinated team setups are more limited and last-minute options are unlikely.
How far is Docksta from Örnsköldsvik / Själevad?
Docksta is a practical base for the wider Örnsköldsvik / Själevad area — typically under ~30 minutes by car (depending on exact destination and traffic). Docksta → Själevad (club area) is often the reference drive.
If you share your planned training locations, we can confirm what the daily logistics look like.
Is Docksta easy to reach (logistics)?
Yes. Docksta is located along the E4, which makes arrivals by car/van straightforward — usually the simplest option for teams with gear and flexible daily movement.
If you’re arriving by train or air, you’ll typically continue with local transport or a rental vehicle.
What’s the minimum stay for a team week?
Team weeks usually work best as 4–7 nights.
If you share your dates and goals, we’ll propose what makes sense for availability and rhythm.
Is it quiet at night?
Yes — a calm, recovery-first rhythm is one of the core reasons teams choose this place.
If your group has specific quiet-hour needs (early nights, strict routines), mention it in your request and we’ll suggest the best unit mix.
Do you have WiFi suitable for staff work / analysis?
Yes — we provide reliable WiFi suitable for work and analysis needs (planning, admin, coach/staff work blocks).
If you have special requirements, tell us in advance.
Can we do briefings / map talks on-site?
Teams often use our Club House and outdoor spaces for:
map talks and planning
short debriefs after sessions
mobility, warm-up, and reset time
It’s not a corporate conference room. It’s a functional base camp space with the right atmosphere for focused work.
Can we wash and dry training gear?
Yes — laundry (washing machine + dryer) is available throughout your stay.
For larger groups, tell us your expected laundry volume and we’ll suggest a smooth routine.
Are there private bathrooms?
The Guest House includes private bathrooms (ideal for staff/families or a small team unit that benefits from extra privacy and smooth morning routines). Private bathrooms can make mornings faster for staff/families or a ‘quiet unit’.
Other units use the Service House (shared showers & toilets).
If bathrooms/privacy are a priority for your team, tell us and we’ll recommend the best setup.
Can we self-cater (kitchen / kitchenette)?
Self-catering is possible, but the exact setup depends on your unit mix and what you book.
If your team has a strict routine (early breakfasts, packed lunches, simple dinners), mention it — we’ll suggest the most practical configuration.
Do you have parking for vans and multiple cars?
Yes — we have large on-site parking, which makes coordinated arrivals and gear handling simpler.
What accommodation options do you have?
We offer a small collection of waterfront stays (different sizes and rhythms). The best setup depends on dates and headcount — if you tell us your group size, we’ll recommend the most practical unit mix.
Can you help us plan training routes?
We don’t run your training. You bring your plan.
But we can help with practical local guidance (what’s close, what’s sensible, logistics and simple options). You keep full control of training decisions.
Embargo areas & GPS etiquette (Strava/Livelox) — what should we know?
In the build-up to major events, some areas may have access rules and GPS/Strava/Livelox etiquette. We respect official guidelines and encourage teams to do the same.
We are an independent accommodation provider — for official embargo information and event rules, always follow the WOC 2029 organizers and federation channels.
Can supporters and families stay here too?
Yes. Docksta Havet Base Camp can work well for supporters, families, and visitors who want a calm place to reset between event days — right by the sea, with easy access to the wider High Coast area.
What is the “Peak Performance Base Camp” concept?
It’s our simple way of describing what teams actually need for a strong week:
sleep, routines, and reliable logistics — in a calm environment that supports recovery-first rhythm.
How do bookings work (Airbnb-first)?
We prefer bookings through Airbnb for clarity and simplicity.
Individual stays: book directly on Airbnb
Team weeks (multiple units / coordinated arrivals): send a request first — we’ll suggest the best setup and booking path
We’ll reply with a suggested setup + the simplest booking path (Airbnb links or a coordinated plan).
What should we send in a team week request?
Please include:
preferred dates (May–June is best) + flexibility
estimated headcount
team type (national orienteering team / club / staff / supporters)
preferred rhythm (quiet recovery-first vs more social)
any must-haves (laundry rhythm, kitchenette needs, briefing flow, parking/van needs)
Optional but helpful:
forest / sprint / mixed focus
any accessibility considerations
Can we combine team + supporters (mixed group)?
Yes — tell us the mix and we’ll propose a setup (quiet unit + social unit, etc.).
How fast do you reply?
We usually reply within a few hours during the day.
Are you an official WOC 2029 accommodation site?
No — independent base camp. We support teams with a calm stay and practical logistics.
